About

Here, I'll try to write about technology, ideas, and other things that may seem simple at first glance, until you look at them properly.

Examples of areas that I'm curious and passionate about are climate (change), software (engineering), startups (in tech), and artificial intelligence (inluding of course, but not limited to, LLMs).

Disclaimer: All ideas and blog posts/essays on here are human-incepted and -written.
I like how Mitchell Hashimoto put it, who repeatedly disclaims on his website what I'll paraphrase here once: Especially so for a personal blog, I think it is indispensable to bring across one's own actual thoughts and emotion. LLMs, or some other text-generating technology, would probably take that away from both the author and the reader.
Plus, for this writing, I'm not in a hurry to "get the text out". So why let some other thing take over? :-)

I'll leave you with this quote:

"Writing is nature's way of letting you know how sloppy your thinking is."

– Dick Guindon

I definitely want to be let know!

What belongs here

The tagline is about subjects with more structure than they first appear to have: things people use, repeat, believe, optimize for, or misunderstand. This is an intentionally broad area where most interesting topics will hopefully fall under somewhere.

What I'm aiming for

Clear writing, careful thinking, and posts that leave the reader with a better model of something than they had before.
Or a disagreeing opinion! I'm not assuming I'll get it "right" every time, especially on discussion topics with an open-end.
